Pieces of Us was definitely my favorite of this series. Deeply romantic, passionate, heartbreaking, I’ve been swept off my feet.

If you had a second chance to finally be with the love of your life, would you take it? In spite of all the insecurities that lead to heartbreak in the first place. Maxon had a tough life, living in the wrong side of the tracks, not believing that he could make it through. Just had to survive.

Until he met the sweet and so brave Izzy.

Izzy has been in love with Maxon “Mack” from the first time. She gave her head fully and Mack’s issues totally crushed her heart, tearing the pieces of them, until they reached a point of no return, with Izzy leaving town, escaping heartbreak and the boy who destroyed her.

Maxon and Izzy’s journey was a love of a lifetime, a powerful connection, an electric chemistry that you could feel so much. An emotional ride that won’t leave you indifferent for sure.

Maxon was the kind of hero that I was so falling for. Intense, passionate and his love for Izzy was just… damn my heart. For a man who might have chosen the wrong path to save her, nothing compares in his way to be that man she deserved, to show her that this time would be different, that it was finally time. And ladies, the sexy detective was pretty determined to be part in her life and never letting go.

Izzy was effortless to love, a force of nature who had to learn how to survive, proud and fierce. She thought that she managed to protect her heart and to move on. But when she came back to her hometown, every broken pieces seemed to click, healing her heart little by little.

I won’t tell you more about the storyline but this was a story that should be read, an amazing experience throughout two broken souls who finally found their place. I was at times overwhelmed, went through a range of emotions, that the author wrote in a magnificent way. Conveying emotions to another level.

Maxon and Izzy took my breath away. Pieces of Us was an emotionally charged standalone that captured my heart. A story about second chances and forgiveness, so beautifully written.
