Review : As long as you love me – Ann Aguirre (2B Trilogy #2)

Most people dream about getting out of Sharon, Nebraska, but after three years away, Lauren Barrett is coming home. She has her reasons—missing her family, losing her college scholarship. But then there’s the reason Lauren can’t admit to anyone: Rob Conrad, her best friend’s older brother.

Football prowess and jaw-dropping good looks made Rob a star in high school. Out in the real world, his job and his relationships are going nowhere. He’s the guy who women love and leave, not the one who makes them think of forever—until Lauren comes back to town, bringing old feelings and new dreams with her.

Because the only thing more important than figuring out where you truly belong is finding the person you were meant to be with.

My review :

As long as you love is a sweet, romantic read about Lauren and Rob (Nadia’s brother), wanting to find a meaning in their life, who they really are.

Lauren is coming back to Sharon, in Nebraska, after having a meltdown by living to the city with her best friend Nadia. All this time, she tried to save the apparences, to be someone she isn’t : partying, drinking, doing wrong things. Backing up to Sharon was an escape for her.
Even through her frailness, she goes for what she wants. I like her nerd side, cutness and kindness. She’s got a big heart and stands for her family.
Rob is Nadia’s big brother and like Lauren, nobody sees the real him, always underestimated by his good looks. All his life, his family always put her sister first, make him feeling used to be not enough, leading him to have a big lack of confidence.
I like his honest side, shyness, sensitiveness, sexiness, romanticism and how he tried to be a good man to Lauren. All that he wants that one day someone to notice him, to see the real him, below the surface. To be someone’s forever.

Their chemistry were great, not insta love. They known each other for years and this is one of the reasons is how strong and powerful their connection is.
The romance was well developed, their attraction was so much more than physical.
They were like best friends, partners in every way until Lauren did what she used to : pushing people away. She wish the best for him, seeing him happy about his new job ( i love the name Rob the builder, it was kind of sexy you know! )But insecurities gets in the way and all the unsaid, misunderstanding things come up to the surface.

Ann Aguirre knows how to write romance who can make you swoon, blush and smiling! Women in her books aren’t helpless and i like that they stands for the ones they love, and men who aren’t afraid to show their true colors. And not even once it feels smarmy! Can’t wait for the next one, Shape of my heart!!
