As a kid, Logan Preston was a brat.
Through his teens, he became the bad boy.
Now, at nineteen, no one knows what the hell to expect.
High school dropout, Logan Preston is a
good-for-nothing stoner.
A black sheep.
A disappointment.
The worst Preston Punk of the lot.
At least that’s how everyone in his small town
makes him feel.
But Logan Preston has secrets.
Secrets so dark and so deep below the surface that the only way he can fight them is to stay high, high, high.
He wears cockiness as a mask.
Arrogance as his armor.
Until one girl, one night, asks one life-changing question:
What’s beneath the bravado, Logan Preston?
Jay McLean is one of my go to emotional authors. I knew that I would be in a freaking mess after reading Logan. It was a rollercoaster of emotions.
I’ve been a fan of Cameron and Lucy in The More Than series, especially about Lucy’s family.
This family of seven kids. Lucy’s the oldest. A family so freaking adorable, endearing and making you feel what home feels like, when nothing is perfect but people sticking together in the good and bad times. Huge crush on the youngest Preston, Lachlan who literally captured my heart.
Logan.. he just broke my heart. The author managed to convey in a powerful way how his life was spiraling down until hitting rock bottom and the consequences of his self destruction on himself but also on his family. Not giving a damn about what people think and living his life on his own terms and rules, not very social but trying to maintain this strong bond with his family even if sometimes it didn’t feel like he was trying.
Aubrey was looking for something and ended in this town when everyone knew everything. This firecracker and sassy girl seemed to be the one no one noticed or cared about. Until Logan, who saw right through her and even without trying, she started to have feelings for someone who might not give his heart in return. Like a disaster in a making or more like delaying the inevitable.
In this chaos and darkness, there’s been light and hope, family and friends. In tragedy written almost like poetry, dark and twisted. I was rooting for these two since the moment they started to bicker at each other and even with all the hardships they had to overcome in the way, I guess I wouldn’t change anything. They were just magical together, better than good. They just made my heart race. Struggling with their life, a little bit lost as well but together… I had this stupid smile.
It wasn’t a happy story for sure but so beautifully written in tragedy with unprecedented accuracy and magnificent in love. There was so much pain and also so much love. I have so much love for this story that went straight to my heart.
