Hot Winter Nights, a stand-alone Heartbreaker Bay romance, by Jill Shalvis is a sexy romance in which hero Lucas Knight wakes up with a woman in his bed with no memory of how that happened. What the heck?

Who needs mistletoe?

Most people wouldn’t think of a bad Santa case as the perfect Christmas gift. Then again, Molly Malone, office manager at Hunt Investigations, isn’t most people, and she could really use a distraction from the fantasies she’s been having since spending the night with her very secret crush, Lucas Knight. Nothing happened, not that Lucas knows that—but Molly just wants to enjoy being a little naughty for once . . .

Whiskey and pain meds for almost-healed bullet wounds don’t mix. Lucas needs to remember that next time he’s shot on the job, which may be sooner rather than later if Molly’s brother, Joe, finds out about them. Lucas can’t believe he’s drawing a blank on his (supposedly) passionate tryst with Molly, who’s the hottest, smartest, strongest woman he’s ever known. Strong enough to kick his butt if she discovers he’s been assigned to babysit her on her first case. And hot enough to melt his cold heart this Christmas.

About the Author:

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jill Shalvis writes warm, funny, sexy contemporary romances and women’s fiction. An Amazon, BN & iBooks bestseller, she’s also a two-time RITA winner and has more than 10 million copies of her books sold worldwide.

Jill lives with her family in a small town in the Sierras full of quirky characters (Any resemblance to the quirky characters in her books is mostly coincidental). She does most of her writing on her deck surrounded by more animals than humans. Which is quite astonishing considering she’s a city girl who was plucked from the wilds of L.A. to the wilds of the Sierra’s. Most of her books come from a combination of hard work, cookies, and hot guy pics, and not necessarily in that order.

Jill often travels to reader weekends & conventions where she LOVES getting to meet and hang-out with readers. The only problem being she tends to get lost in her hotels. So if you ever see Jill Shalvis roaming the halls, someone please return her immediately.

** ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review. **

It’s not even winter yet and I wanted it to be so hard. It’s my second one by Jill Shalvis and I have to say that it’s getting better. The Heartbreaker Bay series followed a group of friends who found love in each book. Even if it’s interconnected and you read about some characters from the previous books, you won’t be lost. Even more, you’d like to read about the others.

Molly and Lucas are coworkers at Hunt investigations. One is the security specialist and the other dreams to finally take a case, not staying behind a desk.

I adored the sassy and witty banter with a strong hint of hotness. It was taking place during Christmas and you could feel the snow melting… oh my.

Teamed up in case when he had to babysit her without letting her know, Lucas was going to discover that even the most guarded hearts could easily opened when you found the one. So dangerous but terribly addictive.

I appreciated to follow the main characters on investigation, when each other was seeing the other in a new light, not only in their workplace.

Molly was a badass, strong, but having such insecurities. Being emotionally unavailable to protect herself. Just take one to know one.

Lucas wasn’t expecting to be as much challenged with Molly. He knew from the first moment he spent the night with her that he couldn’t stay away. Risking his friendship with Molly’s brother.

Both sharing some heavy past and scars (visible or not) put them together. It was effortless to fall in love with them. They didn’t hold back, passionate, the teasing was on point, the chemistry just sinfully hot!

Their friends and family were definitely a great addition to the amazing banter. They obviously didn’t know their boundaries but always acting in their friends’ best interests. Especially when they messed up.

I finished this book with a huge smile on my face, swooning so many times I lost count, totally entertained by this communicative energy.  A case where Santas seemed to be the bad guys and elves had to wear tight costumes!

Who needs mistletoe? I probably do!!
