Life is a series of events, one leading you to another. The
hell I lived through with my drug-addicted parents led me to the Marine
Corps. Committing my life to my country was easy. My
brothers were my family–all I had and all I needed. I wasn’t looking
for her, but I should have known life had other plans.

It led me to her.
From the moment we met, I knew he was different–I just
didn’t realize he’d change my life. He was a guy on leave, an
acquaintance. Until he was something more, something unforgettable. I
never imagined he’d leave ten days later, taking a piece of me with
him. Then again, maybe I did know. I just didn’t care.
He was worth it.

I can’t say I wasn’t enraptured by Slade and Austyn’s story, sweet and tender, smoking hot and intense at the same time. The author provided an incredible love story, about two young people who found love and fought for their HEA, no matter what. To be the one to pull the other through when life gets hard.

I’ve been moved by this genuine and sincere tone throughout the story and I’ve felt the butterflies… this thrill when you met someone for the first time, feeling deep down your soul that something was happening, scaring and exciting at the same time.

When I think about Slade and Austyn, I can’t help it, just put a smile on my face. What an endearing couple.

I could feel this intense connection they shared, a bit of innocence and incredible sweetness so heartwarming. They fall fast and deeply, and took a chance on love. It never felt forced, the story was running smoothly, with characters who wore their heart on their sleeve, making you feel from one look or touch.

The interesting part was the evolution of the characters, as individuals and as a couple.

That story showed the struggles about the ones who chose the military way, and their families who supported them, no matter how hard and tough.
