It was supposed to be fun.
A mutual use of each other’s bodies.
To be a ruse to the world around us.
I wanted to be free from my ex, and he wanted to escape his.
One drunken night turned a joke into a life-changing moment.
He warned me not to fall for him, and I should’ve listened.
He intoxicated me.
He made me crave him.
He ruined me.
In the end, I’ll never be the same.

I really adore the Hope Town series, well after Nate’s story, I was really intrigued by Shane, his business partner.
Reading about how he was going to find his match in the most unexpected way, especially when he wasn’t expecting was delightful.
Alpha men, stubborn and sassy women, tons of sexiness and sexual tension. Welcome to Hope Town!
Sinfully and smoking hot, Shane’s work was definitely not the best place to find love. Not interested to be involved after a bad break up that opened his eyes and ruining all his trust with women, the best way is to avoid complications. But when Nikki happened, well all bets were off.
An agreement to let their stalkerish exes out of their life turned into something more. I did enjoy their journey, through their fears and expectations, to fight their own fears when you’re love. The struggle will be tough and hard but with a woman like Nikki to put him on his toes, it was definitely worth it. I felt the high in their story, drunk on each other. And oh my…
The author knows how to bring the heat from the first pages, and this couple was pretty explosive, intense and incredibly sweet. I do like a man who can expose his part of sensibility and vulnerability, and at the same time being so alpha.
Even if I did enjoy the sparks, it took me some time to really get into their story. To enjoy it at the fullest, but when I got into it, I didn’t want to let them go. Shane took some time to win me over, however Nikki was just a wonderful surprise at every levels. The connection was here for sure but I didn’t click immediately.
It made me smile, swoon, the electric vibes from Shane’s work was a really more than enticing. And I definitely more than giggled. Just imagine some “Magic Mike” moves and a hero who can melt the ladies’ panties!
