HOLD MY BREATH
NA Contemporary Romance-Stand Alone
Scheduled to release: November 18, 2016
BLURB:

Fractions of seconds can do lots of damage. One decision can ruin lives. A blink can be tragic. And loving a Hollister…can hurt like hell.

I would know.

They say the average person can hold their breath under water for two full minutes when pushed to the extremes. Will Hollister has been holding his for years. The oldest of two elite swimming brothers, Will was always a dominant force in the water. But in life, he preferred to let his younger

brother Evan be the one to shine.

Evan got the girl, and Will…he got to bury all of the secrets. A brother’s burden, the weight of it all nearly left him to drown.

The daughter of two Olympians, my path was set the day my fingertips first touched water. My future was as crystal clear as the lane I dominated in the pool—swim hard, win big, love a Hollister.

My life with Evan burned bright. He gave me arms to come home to, and a smile that fooled the world into believing everything was perfect. But it was Will who pushed me. Will…who really knew me.

And when all of the pieces fell, it was Will who started to pick them up.

In the end, the only thing that matters are those few precious seconds—and what we decide to do while we still have them in our grasp.

Excerpt:

“I need you to stay, Will,” she says. “No matter what…if you lose, if I lose. If this gets hard, whatever this is. I need you to stay until we figure it out. And even then, I just think…”

She lifts her head, and I cup her face in my hands, her eyes locking on mine.
“I think I just need you to stay,” she says.

I stare at her for several seconds, holding my breath, my mind racing with all of my demons, with everyone else’s demons, too. I fear none of it is possible. I’m going to break her heart. Those demons—they’ll destroy her.

But I can’t give her up. I need her to stay, too. Even though I can’t promise it; even though I shouldn’t, I say exactly what she needs to hear.

I let myself believe it for the breath it takes to speak.

“Okay,” I say, bringing her lips to mine, kissing her softly then closing my eyes as her forehead rests against mine. “Okay,” I whisper again.

I may have to break this promise, but for right now…for right now, I mean it.

ReviewBlog

I love Ginger Scott and that’s not a secret. Then Hold my Breath happened and damn Will Hollister.

I was ready for something tough, hard and heartbreaking and I got it, the author provided such a beautiful, emotionally charged story about loss, and forgiveness and it was magnificent.
Will and Maddy’s journey made my heart race.

A tragic event, four years later, a lot of heartbreaking and pain and here we are, in Will and Maddy’s shoes, two people who lost and suffered so much.

Best friends and swimming teammates, the bound they shared was incredible, powerful until that moment destroyed all their lives.

Maddy is one of the best swimmers of her generation, trained and raised by her father, she is a legacy, a badass. The death of Will’s family hit her hard and lost in a way her boyfriend, Will’s younger brother. From that moment, the spark ceased to shine and she was drowning, sinking until the point that her father had to call the one who could challenge her, Will Hollister.

Will is one of my favorite characters, he is tortured, passionate, and selfless. I had from the first moment a spot for him. He went through hell, lost himself in the way, but going back home was the trigger to be on track again, to live again. He was holding his breath for a long time, until Maddy.

He was not perfect for sure, had secrets on his own and wanted to protect the ones he loved in every possible way, but I couldn’t help to be captivated and drawn to him. His flaws made him more real, touching. Yes you got it, I really have a crush.

Anyway, this book was just stunning at every levels, overwhelming, bringing all these range of emotions. And it was beautiful, real and so strong. This is why I love Ginger Scott because she can write about tortured characters, tragic and heartbreaking stories, turning them into something amazing  and inspiring. So thank you very much.
