Lucy Burchett is the heiress to a notoriously disastrous family, and she’s left home for good. But when she runs a big, black pickup off the road, totaling it, she finds herself stuck in the middle of nowhere with the driver. He’s got a body to die for and a hair-trigger temper. Vince Russo looks like a felon, but he’s also pretty funny. He’s on the lam from the cops… and a psychopathic, Russian mob boss who wants to put his balls on a barbeque. Literally.
After a night of ill-advised cocktails and bathroom-wrecking sex, Vince just can’t get Lucy off his mind. But he’s got plans to rob her. And Lucy’s life is about to get a little bit criminal too.
But can a bad boy and a good girl really escape from their troubles together? Can they trust each other at all?
In the steady march of disasters that follow them west, they fight and they laugh. They tease and they’re tender. They’re either oil and water, or chocolate and peanut butter.
Except, they can’t run from the real world forever. And there’s a hell of a surprise in store for both of them…
To the reader: Confessed is a standalone featuring Lucy, who readers met as the best friend in Professed. Both are stand alones and do not need to be read together. Be advised, things get super dirty in this book. The sex is explicit, and the language is rude. It’s an erotic love story with fury. Other tasters’ notes: Bobby pins. Peculiar motels. Horses. Motorcycles. Aiding and abetting. Great Smoky Mountains. New Mexico.
Nicola Rendell writes dirty, funny, erotic romance. She likes a stiff drink and a well-frosted cake. She is at an unnamed Ivy and prefers to remain mostly anonymous for professional reasons. She has a PhD in English and an MFA in Creative Writing from schools that shall not be named here. She loves to cook, sew, and play the piano. She realizes that her hobbies might make her sound like an old lady and she’s totally okay with that. She lives with her husband and her dogs. She is from Taos, New Mexico.
I read Confessed with a state of shock, awe, and surprise. I haven’t read any books by Nicola Rendell, but damn she can write!!
This was a Hell of ride and I savored each moment. This is the kind of story you can’t stay away from, too addictive and letting you craving, begging for more, and I’m not just talking about the sex but everything. Brilliantly executed, with blazing pace, I was in admiration about the author’s mind and her vision of Lucy and Vince’s story.
This book was an explosion of emotion, switching to one to another, at a full speed pace and I enjoyed it!!
I was mindblown and utterly captivated.
Vince and Lucy, two opposites in lifestyle but with the same fire and wild side. A con and a rich girl going on an insane trip to … nowhere, or mostly avoiding reality and running away.
Their journey was one memorable one, passionate, intense, definitely graphic, sensual, rough, tough, well all the feels and even with all of this the author managed to bring some sweetness, and so romantic at times.
Vince is one of my favorite book boyfriends, even book husband material!! He’s trouble with a capital A, but damn I understood how the heroine, Lucy was ready to get burned and … hurt. An alpha male with a sensitive side, and making all the women melting, swooning, well all the things!! Charismatic, dominant, and freaking hot in bed … I was sold!
Lucy is such an incredible character, I was more than surprised. Nothing unexpected for an heiress, and I adore her wackiness, wildness and spontaneity. She’s so unpredictable and I was always waiting for her next move.
The two of them??? Thermonuclear!! I could sense all the steamy and dirty vibes emanating from this book, almost making my glasses fogging. So hot and intense. The sex parts were reflecting how much they were crazy for each other, eager, uncontrollable. I was stunned by the author’s creativity, all these parts were freaking amazing, inventive and well such a turn on. Especially one including a dominant Lucy … MINDBLOWN!!!
This book was everything, I was astonished, totally addicted to the author’s flawless writing.
Why I haven’t read any books by Nicola Rendell before??? This book was highly recommended to me and I couldn’t pass the opportunity to sign up for an ARC after all the fuzz and mostly, the blurb, so catchy!! It was outstanding at every levels! A must read!!
