Romance novelist Lucy Figueroa lives a life of the imagination. While her stories are filled with fictional alpha male heroes, her real life is filled with nothing but Mr. Wrongs. As a sassy, strong, single mom, she doesn’t need anyone… except maybe a new book idea. And to forgive herself for the mistakes of the past.Lucy’s sexy new neighbor, Jake Slausen, looks like one of her characters come to life. While he fits the heartthrob part, he doesn’t act it, too distracted by his cell phone and his job for any relationship. Damaged by his childhood, he’s ignored his true calling and goes through his days on autopilot…until he meets Lucy.
First drawn together by chemistry, then by a fierce need to protect each other even from themselves, will Jake and Lucy learn to accept their pasts or will they convince themselves that happily ever afters only exists in romance novels?
Leslie McAdam is a California girl who loves romance, Little Dude, and well-defined abs. She lives in a drafty old farmhouse on a small orange tree farm in Southern California with her husband and two small children. Leslie always encourages her kids to be themselves – even if it means letting her daughter wear leopard print from head to toe. An avid reader from a young age, she will always trade watching TV for reading a book, unless it’s Top Gear. Or football. Leslie is employed by day but spends her nights writing about the men you fantasize about. She’s unapologetically sarcastic and notoriously terrible at comma placement (that’s what editors are for!).Always up for a laugh, Leslie tries to see humor in all things. When she’s not in the writing cave you’ll find her fangirling over Beck, camping with her family, or mixing up oil paints to depict her love of outdoors on canvas.
Leslie McAdam is Go author to me! I love how she could write passionate and smoking hot romance that made you head spinning.
It’s my second book and I’m still addicted. A romance novelist and a secretive workaholic lawyer? Sarcasm and smut? I’m in!
Lucy is a single mother of a 12yo, a successful romance novelist. Hot tempered, selfless and dedicated to her son. She’s got this sassy attitude, she’s strong and independent. But a woman has some needs, right? When a new neighbor, who seemed to come straight from a romance book, she was immediately drawn and mostly drooling over him.
Jake was the secretive and too serious hot neighbor. He was living for his job, dedicated to his clients. A routine well orchestrated until Lucy the firecracker turned his world upside down. He didn’t know what was hitting him, a beautiful and sexy tornado, leaving him hanging for more. For once in his life, he found a new meaning, the electroshock he needed to be alive again.
I couldn’t be a Leslie McAdam’s book without some smut parts and creative intercourse. I admit it, I love it!
The building of their relationship was very intense from the start but them made it work, through the issue of being a single parent fighting for her children, to settle down and taking chance on life and especially love.
How to find a balance when you don’t have a clue how to be happy or when you don’t have a real childhood or parental figures? This approach was managed in a very smart way. Jake had to confront his fears and move on, thanks to the love of Lucy and her family, proving that love is unconditional, that no money could ever buy it.
It was hot, swoony and heart warming. I really loved reading Jake and Lucy’s journey, being strong together, working as a team. Always listening to each other, with this undeniable and sparkling chemistry!
All the Waters of The Earth is a hit!
