Synopsis
Raised as a prototype for the Georgian Bratva’s obedience drug, 221 fails to think, act, or live for himself; he’s his master’s perfectly-crafted killing puppet. Standing at six-foot-six, weighing two-hundred-and-fifty pounds, and unrivaled in to-the-death combat, 221 successfully secures business for the Georgian Mafiya Boss of NYC, who rules the dark world of the criminal underground. Until his enemies capture him.
Talia Tolstaia dreams to break from the heavy clutches of Bratva life. She dreams of another life–away from the stifling leash of her Russian Bratva Boss father and from the brutality of her work at The Dungeon, her criminal family’s underground death-match enterprise. But when she stumbles upon her family’s captive who is more monster than man, she starts to see the man underneath. A powerful, beautiful, damaged man whose heart calls to hers. But sacrifices must be made–blood for blood…life for life…souls for scarred souls…

I needed to proceed my thoughts before writing my review. When I read the first one of this stunning series, I was in a RAZE HAZE and now I don’t think I could have the right words to describe how deeply 221 and Talia’s journey moved me. I went to a RAZE HAZE to a REAP TRANCE.
The blurb got me, and reading about this man raised as a prototype for the Georgian Bratva’s obedience drug, a puppet in the hands of an horrible master tear me up. You’ve got the mood; it’s dark and twisted, but behind all this darkness, a heartbreaking and magnificent tale of EPIC romance.
221, was a killing machine, at his master’s orders. Drugged, abused since his young age, living like a prisoner for all his life, this man was removed of all his humanity, reduced to nothing.
Raw, rough but at the same time so scared and afraid of the world, I fell in love with 221.
His innocence and roughness touched me, I wanted to protect this strong man with his huge sensitive side.
Talia is a Tolstaia. Mafia business is her reality and she was suffocating in this life where she has no control. She found back her brother, who was struggling, trying to adapt into his new life. She felt like she didn’t belong and finding her place was hard.
She wanted to feel something, to have someone who look at her like she was everything, finding love in this world of savages.
When the two of them caught into a war between mafia families, it was for the better and the worse and nothing would come between them.
I was mesmerized by this couple. It was just transcendent, incandescent. These two reached down into my soul and I felt it all, overwhelmed by all these emotions.
Tillie Cole knows how to write about flawed and tortured characters in a way that you won’t be able to stay away.
There’s a lot of violence, crazy things happening and I assure you that your heart is gonna beat so fast, that sometimes you’ll forget to breathe. The storyline was moving full steam ahead from the beginning to the end.
I could talk to you about the plot, but I’d rather talk about how this book made me feel, a freaking tsunami, sweeping everything in its path. This book is a MUST READ and book hangover material!!
