photo LC Synopsis HTML_zpsuhs53pow.jpgStaci Jameson is independent to a fault. But after growing up in the shadow of an overprotective family, and being let down by the only person that promised to always be there for her, Staci locked away her heart and vowed only to rely on herself.

Until a tall dark and sexy-as-sin player reawakens something inside of her.

Kade Ford knows what some people will do in the name of love, and it isn’t all hearts and flowers. It’s the reason he isn’t looking to settle down. Ever. Instead, he plays the field and never gets too close.

Until a tiny blonde firecracker barrels her way into his life and leaves him wanting more.

What starts as a one-night stand turned friends-with-benefits arrangement begins to blur into something neither of them saw coming—or wanted. And when secrets from their pasts catch up with them, the very thing that they are both running from might just be the thing that they need the most. Will Staci and Kade turn to each other or will they let their pasts define their future?

Sometimes two people don’t just come together…they collide.

« This is how it was with us. We didn’t just come together. We collided. »

L.A Cotton is a new author to me.
I was really impressed by the turning events of this story. This story was heartwarming, and even with some issues about the heroes past, I could be turned into a story with a lot of drama, but it didn’t. It was a swoon worthy, hot, charming and sometimes so frustrating read.

Staci and Kade have history.
All along the story, we have glimpse of their past, started by the intense physical connection to friends with benefits and of course the beginning of a relationship. What was supposed to be fling turned out to be so much more?

Stacy Jameson is an independent woman, no string attached kind of girl, with a heavy past, the wounds haven’t healed yet. The more you push her, the more she runs away.
An overprotective family, with only her father and three brothers, she was always alone and was suffering to be cast aside. Her past so heartbreaking and she went though a lot alone, so that she didn’t have to rely on someone. She was an endearing character, even if I wanted to shake her sometimes to be so obstinated.
Her rule : don’t ever get attached to someone, she has to protect herself and especially her heart.

Kade Ford is all you can player, and wasn’t hiding who he was. His life wasn’t complicated, no commitment, until the little firecracker Staci. And it hit him hard, once he got her, he couldn’t stay away. It was very pleasant to see how this guy fell in love with her. He got flaws, acted sometimes like an ass, but when he had to make amends, he tired his best. I really loved this character.
Just one more night with Staci woke some intense, passionate feelings, and for the first time he found himself wanting more from Staci, not the sex, but her heart.
He could sense that she had some issues keeping her on her guard constantly.

Their banter was sizzling, and the chemistry off the charts! There was angst, some mystery about their past, lust and outstanding sex. The sexual tension? damn it it was hot!
Each time, he made a step forward, Staci put two step back. I was a little frustrated by this behavior, but hopefully, they were some amazing moments, reminding us that these two feisty are meant to be together, even if their past still kept them apart.
Watching the two be together, fighting, spilt apart, get back together was driving me nuts, but I enjoyed so much how these two hadn’t just come together but collided in a striking way.
It was mind-blowing; through the ups and downs of this whirlwind romance.

This story made a point to show how much friendship and family are valued, and all the characters are perfectly playing their parts in their love story, keeping both of their feet on their ground. This side of the story was well written, and if I didn’t read the first ones, I wanted to know more about them.

I loved this book and was stunned by the way the author could write with so much passion and heart. I was hooked from the beginning and reading about their journey long and full of obstacles, was so much worth the read. This book won’t be my last from this author, and I will read the first ones for sure. Great new adult romance !

Fate’s Love (Fate’s Love Book 1)

Synopsis

“When you meet that one person in the world meant for you… you should hold onto them.”

Olivia Bannon walked away.

Twice.

When 17-year-old Livy meets Ethan, she can’t deny their inexplicable connection. Lost in his dark, intense eyes and smile-to-die-for, Livy never thought she would feel like this. It almost makes her want to break her childhood vow, but Livy knows happily ever after is just an illusion, and despite her heart wanting Ethan, her head is telling her to stick with the plan. The one that doesn’t include falling in love. Period.

Eight years later, Livy finds herself back in her hometown. After the way she left things, the last time they were together, Livy is anxious about seeing Ethan again. It shouldn’t come as a shock to discover he has finally moved on—but it hurts. A lot. Accepting that she will never get the chance to put things right isn’t easy, but it’s not until life comes crashing down around her that Livy realizes what she could’ve had. Left broken, alone, and depressed, only one person can pull her out—the guy she thought she’d pushed away one too many times.

Livy has finally realized that you can’t fight fate… Some things are just meant to be. Is this finally her time to get it right, or has Livy missed her last chance with Ethan?

He didn’t expect to want more… with the girl he once watched from afar.

Back in high school, Sharn would never have looked twice at someone like him, and Keefer would’ve never stood a chance with someone like her. But six years is a long time, and when they find themselves placed in charge of seventeen ninth graders they soon realize they might not be as different as they think. The chemistry is right, even if the timing is all wrong.
