Blurb :

A sweet and steamy New Adult Romance from Amazon bestselling author of the Ruthless People series, J.J. McAvoy…

After an erotic one-week fling with a musician she meets in a bar, Thea Cunning never expects to see Levi Black again. Then Monday morning comes around, and she discovers that her former lover is not only her professor, but he’s also one of the top criminal lawyers in the state of Massachusetts.

With everyone in class vying to be one of the twelve disciples—a group of twelve students that Professor Black takes under his wing—tensions run high. Thea considers dropping his class, given their passionate week together and their undeniable chemistry. After all, there are other (less infuriatingly sexy) law professors on campus.

But to accomplish her goal and get her father out of prison, Thea knows she needs to learn under the best of the best—and that’s Levi Black.

But can she learn under the best, without being under the best?

This book was freaking amazing! Two people having an hot and erotic affair for one week, with no expectations further? What’s the catch?
Oh la la!!! I wasn’t disappointed at ALL!!
Let’s start a journey, with hot and steamy vibes, sinfully sexy, erotic and passionate, into the world of attorneys.
I was captivated by the story and the characters! REALLY!The story is told from dual POV and into three parts: past/present/future.

Thea is a young woman, waiting to drown her sorrows, forgetting how messed up is her life.
One day, she met Levi in a bar … One night together and they went to an whole week with no string attached/fucked our brains out! How could she refuse his proposition?

” One week. Sex, good, us, and then we get back to reality. “

” I want to fuck you until you can’t walk straight.”

Between them, It was attraction at first sight, the kind of charging the air with electricity. Not only they got along physically but their banter seemed more than this.
She is an interesting character, a woman with no filter, at ease with her body, confident, smart and funny. She’s a fast leaner and a tough competitive person.

Levi is the one who was drawn immediately into her, completely under the spell.
This man had so much sides: complex, imposing, sexy/bossy/horny lover, calculating and ruthless.

I liked how this character could separate his private life and his professional one.
After one night together, he couldn’t get enough of her and proposed to spend one week with him!

“As the song slowed down, I pulled her in, spinning her around. She landed so close to my lips. What was this? Why did I want to kiss her again so badly? I didn’t even know her last name, and yet it was like every part of me was crying out for her.”

After this moment, the curtains fell and they were both stunned to be reunited again. Levi is her professor, a renowned criminal lawyer, who always wins his cases. This revelation hit them hard, and they both tried to override their attraction.
If it was more than sex, physical attraction?
This week was definitely more than a fling.
The alternating POV and the glimpses of the past melting with the present, showed how their passionate, consuming they relationship was.

´“When I say I want you, I mean I need you. I need to run my fingers over your skin, kiss down your back, and make you moan my name. I. Need. You. And from the look on your face, you need me too. So strip.”
How could I not?’

We have to see the background of Levi’s firm; how that sometimes you have to play “dirty” to be on top, that you’re have to be reactive if you don’t want to be left behind. Those part were thrilling.
Levi was the guy who pushed his students to be the best and was a good mentor to all of them. He pushed Thea to be in too, even if sometimes it was indirectly hurting her.

” To students, he was El Diablo, but in Law classes, he was called The cleaner.”

This experience both revealed their true colors, and that they didn’t know much about each other, that their wounds weren’t healed yet. Their issues from their past, the forbidden relationship they had as professor/student were the reasons that they shouldn’t be together.

It was enthralling, rhythmed all along the story.
The layers were pealed, revealing more about themselves until their secrets exploded, where the past and the present collided. The plot was very well planned.
It was sinfully sexy, hot as hell, with a strong and powerful heroine, and an Alpha hero, totally infatuated with his woman.

So J.J , high five!
