Review: Hot and Bothered (Hot in the Kitchen #3) by Kate Meader

A Fire They Can’t Put Out . . .

Although her baby boy keeps her plate full, Jules Kilroy is ready to take her love life off the back burner. Despite a bevy of eligible bachelors, it’s her best friend, Taddeo DeLuca, who’s fueling her hormones with a generous serving of his mouth-watering Italian sexiness. But Jules learned her lesson once before when she went in for a kiss, only to have Tad reject her. She’s vowed never to blur the lines again . . .

After a lifetime of excuses and false starts, Tad has finally opened a wine bar, a deal made even sweeter when Jules joins his staff. Lovers come and go, and he’s had his share, but friendships like theirs last forever. Still, ever since he tasted her luscious lips, he can’t stop fantasizing about what could be. Then she signs up on an online dating site-and the thought of his Jules with another man makes Tad’s blood boil. Even if he gets burned, Tad can’t stop himself from turning up the heat this time.

I discovered Kate Meader through Baby It’s cold Outside and I loved her writing since! This time it wasn’t about sexy firefighters but sexy restaurateurs!
When a single mom, who definitely need a love life, had only eyes for her best friend, handsome italian who owned a wine bar, but this one is too afraid to move on and lose what they have? I said yes to that!

Jules was a strong, independent woman, mother a of sweet little boy and with zero love life; her best friend Taddeo DeLuca (even the name is hot, damn it), womanizer, avoiding commitment and totally in denial when it came to her, and most of all afraid to lose her if they decided to have a relationship (which didn’t started but yeah It may be a possibility)
They both suffered from their past, for Jules to be noticed and find a stability in her life, having her own family, Tad, was looking for the real, meaning in his life, and the death of his parents kind of shut him down, with deep scars.

The trigger for Tad? when she decided to step up her game, and « move on » from her situation : online dating site. Tad knew that he could be burn to from it and Jules being once rejected from him wanted to protect her heart but with him, it was very difficult.
I loved how his family welcomed her as their own and how they stand for each other. She found a family even if their weren’t blood related and being with him could destroyed it if things went wrong.
Tad was the king of Hot and Cold, once he wanted her (caveman attitude, very protective) , and the next time, pulled out.
They were so great together and they made a perfect recipe for love. They completed each other.

Lines are blurred, and they were both manipulated by their family (this family rocks by the way) , because, let’s said it, their insecurities stood in their way for being together (especially for Tad). Tad’s interactions with Jules’ child made my heart swoon!!
But what is the fun if you don’t have some funny, sexy, hot situations in between?
I really liked this story, with two souls crazy about each other but didn’t know how to put things to a next level without being awkward together.
I was smiling throughout all the book and this story was a very warming and sweet romance!
