Caught in the Act was a enjoyable read melting, romance, politics and of course a lot of secrets.
Catherine Davenport is used to politics since her childhood and it definitely runs in the family, but when she needed a break from all of them, scandals and everything about politics, she escaped to the quiet town of Dyersport and her neighbor was her first and only love, after eighteen years spend apart. Her husband died years ago and had two children. And a heavy bag of secrets. she so uptight and being part of a well known family was easy and she was acting overtime because all her acts were scrutinized. She was kind of prisoner.
Brody Hollister was stunned by her comeback and even eighteen years after being separated, feelings came to the surface, and he couldn’t get her out of his head. Her return lifted a lot of why’s and how’s? This man was so invested, protective and caring about his family. Guess what? He had also a secrets on his own!
Even they tried to stay apart and avoiding each other. but this attraction took control over.
They started again to feel whole together and we could sense that even eighteen years apart, they belonged together. But love as enough and if their secrets torn them apart instead of brought them closer?
When they crossed the line and everything was mixed up; family, betrayal, secrets, love, passion., the bubble they were hiding into exploded and hit them hard.
There was a tough journey to both of them to trust people again and to have a sense of normality in their lives but their families were totally fucked up (especially Cat’s mother)! It was a pleasant reading but I couldn’t get into this story because too much stories were mixed up!
