Review : Not Planning on You (Danvers #2) by Sydney Landon

From the New York Times bestselling author of Weekends Required

A Danvers Novel

Suzy Denton thought she had it all: a great job as an event planner for Danvers International and a committed relationship to her high school sweetheart…

But now her life has gone to hell in a hand-basket. Not only did she discover her fiancé cheating, but a recent corporate merger is making her job very difficult—mostly due to Grayson Merimon, wealthy CEO. Gray is a man who goes after what he wants. And, after their first meeting, he wants Suzy.

Even though he looks like every fantasy she’s ever had, Suzy is wary of the powerful businessman. She likes her newfound independence, even if her best friend thinks it’s an excuse not to risk her heart again. Besides, she doesn’t think Gray could ever be interested in a relationship with someone like her. When he calls her bluff, Suzy agrees to one night together.

But when circumstances continue to throw them together—and with Gray determined to show her that two opposites can be a perfect fit—Suzy realizes that she might just have found the one man who can give her what she always needed…

My review :

This is the second book in the Danvers series and it’s just my favorite!
Suzy is Claire’s best friend and Grayson is the CEO of Merimon, acquired by Danvers.

The two of them met in the first one, and all that i can say is that i could sense the electricity in the air!
Suzy is working as the planner event of the company. This woman is so entertaining and endearing.
This little woman, always walking with stiletto heels was so a force of nature! In one encounter, she definitely set Gray on fire. She wasn’t not afraid to tell people what she thought and scared people with her straighftorwardness! Like a hurricane, she came in his life and swept everything in her path!

Gray is my favorite character from this series. He was so romantic, sweet, caring, and self confident man, and knew at first sight that Suzy’s gonna be part of his life. He took every possibility to see her, to part a part of her life. And damn, this man got it bad for her. Everybody can see that he is totally, under the spell and in love with her. She never stopped to amaze him and her reactions were always unexpected.

Suzy was in denial, she wanted nothing serious and wouldn’t be involved with him. After her break up with her high school sweetheart, she’d just wanted to enjoy life. She tried to fight back her attraction but it was very hard. (I can understand, this man is so hot!) Step by step, she fell under the charm of Gray, letting him in her life. But she had some scars on her own and her cold family wasn’t helping, she used to be independent and not depending on someone.
They were so different and Suzy was a blast of fresh air and Gray tried to show her in every way that they belonged together! He’s a little uptight and she’s too wild! The two together were sparkling!!

And when they released all this sexual tension,it was, wow, wow, Sydney Landon knows how to write sexy, steamy scenes and put fire everywhere!!
But Gray, as all the men in this series used to be in charge and hide things that he shouldn’t.
This plot around Gray’s was king of scaring me but Suzy’s reaction was a surprise and i really appreciate that! When he loves, Gray doesn’t do things half-heartedly! * Swoon*
