Review : Mai Tai’d Up (Cocktail #4) by Alice Clayton

Looking for the perfect mix of smart, sexy, and sassy? Mai Tai’d Up continues New York Times bestselling author Alice Clayton’s Cocktail series, which began with Wallbanger and continued with Rusty Nailed and Screwdrivered.

The gossip mill in the seaside community of Monterey is churning about Chloe Patterson, the newcomer who is starting a sanctuary for rescued pit bulls. It’s rumored that she’s a former beauty queen (true) who ditched her fiancé the morning of their wedding (also true). And that while she’s not looking for a new man, the good-looking local veterinarian has his eye on her. Absolutely, positively true.

When Lucas Campbell isn’t at the family veterinary clinic, he’s paddle boarding in Monterey Bay. Recently single, he’s definitely not in the market for a new relationship, but he still can’t resist taking a second, third, and fourth look at the recent arrival of Miss Golden State.

Neither Lucas nor Chloe has any interest in being tied down. Being tied up, however—now there’s a thought. But are a few Mai Tais, a moonlit night, and the music of Frank Sinatra enough to allow them both to forget their past? Let’s hope Ol’ Blue Eyes knows what he’s doing.

Mix one part tiki, one part kinky, and a splash of old black magic matchmaking, and it’s time to be . . . Mai Tai’d Up.

My review :

You love Clark in Screwdrivered? Meet Chloe his cousin, sweet, witty, sexy, funny woman!
In each Alice Clayton’s book you always have best beginnings and this one doesn’t make the exception! Let’s go for a sweet, hilarious ride into Chloe’s thoughts and aspirations!

Chloe was a very endearing character, she had the guts to leave his future husband the day of their marriage and Lucas (can I say ginger haired men are sexy?) getting dumped by his high school sweet heart and let him explain to people that she couldn’t make it.
Two people reunited by fate and same circumstances, and trouble is, Chloe is sharing some physical features with Lucas’ ex.
And my sweet Chloe was so entertaining, with a spirit which can completely melt your heart and make you laugh to no end! I love her way of thinking! When they met, the room was almost under fire!
And Lucas… Alice Clayton makes me love more ginger men! This good, honest, sweet, handsome and sexy man was totally a pure enchantment for every women’s eyes!
And you’re guessing Chloe’s weakness? Hot men like Lucas!

In the short time they had to spend, they created a natural connection with interactions which gonna make your panties burn ladies!!!! How can you close with someone you don’t know for a long time?

But time goes by and they developed a friendship and Lucas wasn’t accepting one thing : lies. The more they spend time together, the more Chloe is getting deeper in her feelings for him even if he didn’t want something serious at the time, the humiliation, lies and rejection from the one he loved were too much for him. The release of this constant sexual tension is obviously sex! And it’s definitely exploding fireworks everywhere!

But our dear Chloe is waiting too long to admit some things to him and the revelation is gonna be a big slap on her face!(Little reminder : They have a HEA, but you have to read it to know how!!)

I fucking love this series so much, Alice Clayton succeeds to serve us a delicious cocktail every time!
Wallbanger, Rusty Nailed, Screwdrivered, and now Mai Tai’d Up! Alice Clayton is writing books like a scriptwriter for movies! I can quite picture each book into a movie! I am so ready for Last Call, because Sweet Caroline and Romantic Wallbanger are so special to me! Thank you Alice Clayton for such great stories!
