My review :

I was waiting for this book since I’ve finished Nowhere but here. I have a big crush, even love for Renée’s writing. I recommend Sweet thing (her first novel) and you can see how she is so talented, writing stories who can challenge you, leaving you speechless; how powerful the experience is!
The first chapter puts you immediately on the mood; you know that you’re gonna ride for an deep, emotional read through the story of Avelina and Nathaniel; in their past, present and future.

Avelina is a young woman who experiences a lot in her past: her father died when she was very young, her mother depressed since, and not very close to her family. She fell in love at eighteen, married just after meeting him. Then a tragedy happened and her husband can’t walk anymore and became a shadow. Since his accident, she’s living through hell; he’s gone.
After enduring so much, her husband’s death is the trigger of her death too. It’s like he took all her soul with him.

Nathaniel is a promising surgeon who’s life is dedicated to his carrer; never experiences what’s life got to offer. All he knew is being a great surgeon without getting involved in a relationship, with no experience with intimacy. He has a wonderful loving family who supported him.
After losing a patient, his father sent him to his uncle’s ranch to take a break, to find maybe the true meaning on his life. Used to live in the city, he’s totally not fitting in the picture, feel out of place, until the moment he met her.

I like how the two met ; Nate was instantly drawn to her; her beauty, natural glowing, even if inside she’s still slowly dying. Used to be alone, because she felt guilty about her husband’s death, she let him into her life, In a short time, he succeed to maker her laugh, something that didn’t happened the last five years. (i love this moment) Little by little the two of them get close, but Nate tried to get her by baby steps. He gives her time to deal with it.
Building a relationship is hard for these two, who tried to learn how to be together, to find a balance.
Everything is getting very fast, with overwhelming feelings; they are connected but not only physically; as they were breathing the same air.
But how can you build a future with someone when you try to learn who you truly are, find your place in this world? Sometimes you have to stay away from the one you love to finally found yourself. Avelina was so strong at this moment! I wasn’t expected this!
Even separated, i love how romantic Nate is; he’s such an old soul!

All that i can say that once again, Renée takes my breath and heart away with this amazing story about these two lost souls who, in the research of themselves, find true, forever love all along the way. Through all the book, i was experiencing so much with them through happiness, sadness, pain, joy , growing with them and so much more! This is why i love reading romance! Renée puts the rights words, everything feels right, the chemistry felt so real! Even if there were some very tough, harsh times, like my heart has been flipped upside down, i really loved every moment, i treasured them. The epilogue was perfect, it reminds me a little of Sweet thing! I want more books Renée!!
