Review : Archer’s Voice (A Sign of Love) – Mia Sheridan

When Bree Prescott arrives in the sleepy, lakeside town of Pelion, Maine, she hopes against hope that this is the place where she will finally find the peace she so desperately seeks. On her first day there, her life collides with Archer Hale, an isolated man who holds a secret agony of his own. A man no one else sees.

Archer’s Voice is the story of a woman chained to the memory of one horrifying night and the man whose love is the key to her freedom. It is the story of a silent man who lives with an excruciating wound and the woman who helps him find his voice. It is the story of suffering, fate, and the transformative power of love.

THIS IS A STAND-ALONE SIGN OF LOVE NOVEL, INSPIRED BY SAGITTARIUS. New Adult Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

My review:

This a fabulous, amazing story about Bree, a woman chained to a memory of one horrifying night and Archer lonely man, living recluse in Pelion, far away from people, also chained to an horrifying tragedy.

I was totally drawn to this story from the beginning : the place, the characters, the mood, everything. It’s told mostly from Bree’s POV but we have also glimpses of Archer’s past and present.

Bree is a strong woman trying to escape by going far away and ended in Pelion, She wants to get a fresh start. But what she wasn’t expecting is to meet Archer, a very and strange mysterious man At first sight, it was like something clicked inside her. Even when Archer seems so wild, primitive, she wants to know him. She sees him like a person and not like a total freak as everybody in town.Archer is man living on his own for a long time, raised by one of his uncle after a tragic night, taking away his mother, father and his other uncle. At the age of seven, he lost his voice. Since then, he was the strange little boy raised by his weird and paranoid uncle. He never get attention from people until he met Bree. For the first time, someone is trying to connect, being friendly with him and he didn’t used to. He was so overwhelmed by this that he didn’t know how to react.

Little by little, they build a relationship: being friends even that they felt more than that. I love how they interact and the fact that they use sign langage to communicate bring a strength to the story. It’s very intimate, kind of very deep connection. It’s like i can hear Archer’s voice in my head. It was kind of weird. It crushed my heart to see how he was putting through all his life, wondering how people can be so mean to him, making him almost invisible to the world, mostly by his own family. I can feel all the love they have for each other, unconditional love. I really enjoyed the romantic mood in the air, like and old school romance from an another time. The sexual chemistry between them: WOW!! I think i’ve never seen a hotter scene describing a hair cut. The moment that they finally realize and not hiding anymore their feelings.

I was so into this book, can’t put it down until the end, My poor heart crushed a few times, (i hate the strip part and Travis need a good slap and more for what he did!) but it was totally worth it. It’s a wonderful story of finding love and meaning into this world. How can you heal after such traumatic lives? It can be cheesy but unconditional, transcendent love can help fighting everything when you give a chance.
5 ARCHER’S STARS FOR THIS BOOK, go for it if you don’t already!I RECOMMEND IT!
